| I have not seen Torchwood. However, it is a spinoff series of the new Dr Who and I watched that from its great first two seasons, meh third season, through the rapidly declining fourth season to its shit season four finale.
So I suggest you watch the first season of Dr Who. If you find the character of Cap'n Jack to be a positive stereotype-busting (gay leaning) bi character who brings back the macho heroic charm of the silver age of cinema and an unapologetic raw sexuality quite unlike the sexless "you-go-girl" gay men featured in most modern TV and movies, you may like Torchwood. If you find the character of Cap'n Jack to be an insufferable Mary Sue for the series' gay writer, you probably won't like Torchwood. |
