| It's really surprising - no word whatsoever when it comes to a patch for the PC version. I can't recommend this game on that platform at all. I don't really want to use this post to whine about it - I'm doing things like hooking up two mice so it will recognize one, then unplugging it so I can use my preferred mouse - but rather to try to get a decent score on Google for this abortion of a game.
There's been absolutely no news about a possible patch, as far as I can see. Not from Activision, not from Radical. There's no such thing as a gaming press, so there's nobody to really be outraged about any of this. Prototype is the second-buggiest game I've ever played. (Front Page Sports: Football Pro '99 is the buggiest. Sierra released an obviously unfinished game as a quick cash grab.) Jesus Christ - look at these fucking slobs. A 79 aggregate score for something this buggy. Some dump called "Cheat Code Central" gave it a 98! How's the whoring, whore? (Well, he gave it a 4.9, and Metacritic did its thing.) I can't even get to the parts where everyone else found bugs, going off of Activision's support forum for the game. I'm going to put up Blob's comparison between Prototype and Infamous in a couple days, but hopefully it's a non-debate if you're on the PC. Prototype wasn't finished. ICJ |
