Was my thought.
-As a Leonard Cohen fan, I hope I never, ever see his version of "Hallelujah" played beneath a love scene ever again. GROSS!
Except for the opening montage, the soundtrack choices may have possibly been the worst in any film ever. Leonard Cohen should probably stop trying to make sex scenes forever.
-I'm not sure how they managed to totally whiff the drama of killing tens of millions of people but they did it. It was not shocking or surprising at all. It just seemed like it didn't matter.
Couldn't tell if it was intentional or not. Maybe it was supposed to put you in the frame of mind for accepting The Flash's plan like the rest of the pussy heroes? To highlight the irony of misanthrope Rorshach being the only one who gives a damn that tens of millions just died?
The whole "moral dilemma" ending was pretty stupid anyway.
-Rorshach in prison was the best part.
Disagree. In a comic book movie that's already pushing 3 hours, they should have cut that entire plotline. Not a damn thing would have been lost to the overall story.
To me the best parts were the flashbacks of a fucked up superhero alternate US history. The least interesting parts were the present day scenes and main plot, specifically every scene with yellow chick was terrible.
This seems to be a common problem with a lot of comics I've read lately: potentially interesting setting that they choose to ignore in favor of something terrible and boring. No, you don't get more superhero McCarthyism and Henry Kissinger super foreign policy, that would leave less time for Die Fledermaus and Yellow Chick's awkward fumbling.
I guess Incredibles was inspired by Watchmen to the point it copied its biggest flaw. You establish this setting about superheroes and how they work in society, then ditch it so you can spend the entire movie on a remote island (Brad Bird's horrible vanity character scenes don't count).
