AVP1 cared less about balanced gameplay, and more, much more, about scaring the shit right out of your asshole.
The Marine missions in AVP1 gave you a true feeling of hopelessness. Ditto the Predator missions, as you didn't have that magical energy-recharging device.
AVP1 was cold-blooded simulation, had no real story or plot, just a series of brutal missions that very successfully immersed you in a world of PHEAR!!!!! AVP2 was much more conventional, though still good. |
