Sanitario666: Do you know anything about DC comics?
Bodybag: a little. Nothing as far as mint condition values and whatnot, though
Sanitario666: so there are different coloured lanterns
Sanitario666: and red is anger and blue is hope and black death, etc
Bodybag: I think the green one was the most popular!
Sanitario666: So tell me what the fuck this blue cat is doing in this image

Bodybag: I smell Liefeld
Bodybag: But yeah, that cat thing is pretty kooky, even for the medium
Bodybag: Could it be... DEX-STARR?

Bodybag: It's like a flow chart of terrible decisions
Sanitario666: haha
Sanitario666: they realistic-ed him up for this cover
Sanitario666: haha the Madball character takes the prize in this rendering
Bodybag: I like the guy with a claw for a head
Bodybag: what a clever name
Bodybag: and spelling
Bodybag: What’s Not So Good: Although Geoff Johns gives us an exciting prelude, there are a few details that are a bit bothersome. First, there are a few things that just seem a bit too unnecessary. Words such as “rage” and “anger” and “hatred” seem to appear on every page where there’s a Red Lantern. I understand that the Red Lantern’s ring is fueled by such things, but those words either need to go, or need to stop being sprinkled so liberally. And second, the use of blood or red energy is just too much. It’s so much redness, it’s ridiculous seeing so many beings puke blood red– there’s even a splash page dedicated to it where you’ll see a bunch of blood pouring out of so many creatures’ mouths. My biggest WTF moment has to go to the Red Lantern kitty, who’s also full of rage and puking blood.

Bodybag: apparently it gets crazier, per the comments:

rhilario, on October 31st, 2008 at 12:10 am Said: Red Lantern Kitty puking blood is a bad idea as Ch’p, that stupid squirrel Green Lantern.

Bodybag: which is totally not a joke

Sanitario666: whoa
Sanitario666: whoa
Sanitario666: He was created by Paul Kupperberg and Don Newton.[2]
