I like WAR, I think I've gotten more into the coolness of my WAR characters than I ever got into WoW classes included my dickass hunters. I would like to play more with people, but it's not exactly like I've been real social in-game, so there's that.
FABIO is as usual pitching a pointless bitch, maybe he has a low end PC or something, but I thought that WAR's graphics were great at depicting a serious high fantasy war-torn world. WoW's graphics are legendary and I've always said so - someone did amazing work on that engine srsly - but WAR is wayyyyyyy better at shit like "forest all smoky from enemy campfires" and "chalky ocean cliffs rising high above the waves." There's a lot of visual detail and atmosphere in WAR, which is good for a game that rewards you for dicking around on the outer edges of quest areas.
Also, despite everyone's bitching, I think WAR has better class and faction balance than any other MMORPG running right now. The fact that many Destro healers appear to be retarded should be balanced by the fact that many Destro DPS players are also incredibly stupid, and that the same things hold true for Order. Guys there's nothing I can do if the witch elf or magus charges and arrives at the big battle before the tanks do, and then just hangs out taking fire. If I'm good and lucky, and there's a stupid squishy hanging out - like an archmage - then I can maybe use the archmage as a battery to keep the idiots alive.
It isn't until endgame that you see people playing truly sensibly in RvR: tanks rush, mDPS runs behind the lines to get at the juicy healers, rDPS makes the healers stay busy with healing rather than self-defense, and the melee healers pick front line tank repair or healer/rDPS upkeep according to their spec. |
