It'll make you think they think girls think you're great. You've got to make it seem like you're not showing off, though, and you've messed that bit up. Asking for general advice doesn't fool anyone because no one genuinely asks for general advice about anything. What you need to do from now on is make the girls seem as different from each other as possible. Tell people you're having trouble choosing between, say, a smart girl and a rich girl. Make a dumb little dilemma out of it and people will be so eager to give you their opinion they won't take the time to suspect the whole thing is a show off.
