I think in this case people voted with their wallets NOT to play, because it's a miracle if you can get a game bigger than 3v3 going, and even then you have to wait a painfully long while. I wish they'd open the servers up to those people who were just pirating it just to give those of us who didn't someone to play against. Same with the "Tournament" metagame mode. Sitting in queues is not a good strategy for multiplayer organization. Some of their corner-cutting on aesthetics just tell me that they don't fucking deserve full price as well. It's 2009, Dawn of War has shown that you can have good gameplay and fluid, unique animations for combat at the same time, but there's nothing at all impressive about watching a gigantic walking castle swipe his hand a few thousand times over heroes, minions, and structures alike. It's these kind of stupid choices that make this game deserve its reputation as a high-priced Defense of the Ancients clone. |
