Dear Zachary
You Canadian guys might have had this spoilt for you buy your news media, but I knew nothing about it and was very surprised. I gave up on it after 15 minutes because of the annoying narrator, but I came back later and ended up crying to it! This happened both times I watched it so it must be considered great for the sake of my manhood.
I'm kind of mixed on this doc, after watching it on your recommendation -- it's a fascinating story, but man, did this feel manipulative. The constant background music, the repeated audio to drill certain points into your brain, the huge amount of cuts that were going on. I actually found this less moving than it probably would have been if the filmmaker hadn't structured it like he did, but the fact that it was an MSNBC production should have clued me in.
