And not a whole lot else. But where decisions were made (What do we do about rotor blades? Fuck it, make them impossible for the player to get hit by and not a consideration when parking a helicopter) they were usually made to avoid pissing on the player. The main defect it has is that many other important parts feel like they never really had a chance to think about them at all, but the core mechanic saves the game, along with the occasionally bland territory conquest hook-in-mouth. So it's probably only slightly better than GTA4, since the territory conquest and side missions are not checkpointed but the story missions are. |
