When you 'couldn't care less', you're caring the absolute minimum about something. If you tried to turn your 'caring knob' down so you CARED LESS you COULDN'T. You're telling people that your current care setting is the least you can possibly care. You could not care less. When you COULD care less, you care at least a bit about it, because there is still potential to care LESS. I think the caring knob analogy should have made things pretty clear, but give me a yell if you're still struggling with this. I'd like to get it sorted on these forums once and for all.
