It's every horrible map creep mission you've ever done times ten. It's like they set out to make the worst possible Myth clone out of spare Warcraft 3 parts, which is an insult to Warcraft 3 because even that horrible campaign was better and the plot is one goth swarm leader away from being just as awful.
RPG elements and strategic map to give you the illusion of choice but really it's all superficial and just adds a pointless layer of nonsense to the very linear campaign. Enjoy the warp jump animation as they force you to bounce like a pinball between the first 2 planets every mission for no reason.
It slides right past Warcraft 3 and straight into WoW level of awful as you have to TANK TANK TANK HEAL HEAL HEAL NUKE NUKE NUKE a raid boss every level.
What was wrong with Dark Crusade's campaign? It was the only genuinely fun single player RTS since the 20th century. Who was complaining that it needed to be completely overhauled with this bullshit? Who decided to cut corners and farm the CG out to discount development houses that only animate one out of three frames? |
