| I never played it, but I was only able to stomach about 10 minutes of Afterlight. The translation is terrible, the research text is almost non-existent. The story is similarly bare bones. The characters are all semi-deformed cartoons and one of your starting characters is a fucking grandmother wielding a rifle. Base development is restricted to a single location that you can build like 5 additions to. My first encounter I almost killed myself because it had put the mission in an area where apparently my spacesuits couldn't handle so my life slowly drained away from my characters while they were working to destroy a bunch of malfunctioning Roombas.
Gamespot asserted it was better than Aftermath, so you might get a kick out of it. I felt like UFO: Alien Invasion was more interesting for all the shit that was wrong with it. |
