Their first album (Pretty Hate Machine) has a couple of really good songs on it, but also a pile of really shitty songs. Downward Spiral is even spottier. The best thing to do would be to go back in time to whenever you could download a bunch of songs piecemeal from the internet for free and get the following songs:

That's it, that's all the good songs they ever did. It's surprising how famous they got.
*If you can get a hold of the "Head Like A Hole" single, there's a bunch of remixes on there, some of them are better than the album versions, especially the "demo mix" of "Down In It".
