1. You can get 49 deaths on a single level (the rotating elevator or "fish in a barrel" + the J&W boss fight) and still get a C in deaths.
2. There is a very real problem with being the invitee to a coop campaign: if XBL gives out on you, you will likely be unable to be reinvited to the host and therefore have to do the entire level again in order to get credit for it. Also applies for quitting before a chapter end: you are likely to get no credit for it when you start again in the same coop pair.
3. The grenade launcher is invaluable once you realize that it is the best nonlethal weapon in your arsenal. Being able to point aim a flash grenade at Jill in order to disable her quickly makes that fight a lot easier, particularly once Wesker and her have become insta-kill delivery systems. Stun, restrain, magnum to chest gem. I'm guessing if it wasn't easy already the explosive or flame grenades would make the flamethrower uroboros much easier as well.
4. If you are not right next to each other, insta kill moves (plentiful) will not allow for partner recovery. As a corollary, there appear to be a number of instakill moves that are unrecoverable no matter how close you are, even though the "dying" sequence begins.
5. Those fucking cockroach things are probably the hardest sub enemy in the game. The "correct" way to beat them seems to be (apart from targeting white) to use the electricity grenades to slow them down, but it's still a crapshoot. We settled on bounding past each other in long hallways with weapons with knockback for the front person and point/high damage weapons for the rear person. Takes some timing and practice, but it's not like you don't have a dozen reloads to practice it in.
6. The bulletproof vest only covers your torso. Impacts to the extremities or head can still result in instant death.
7. Piercing is the single best attribute for weapons that offer it.
8. Beating the game in under five hours is not difficult to do with the chapter system. I almost did it without meaning to on my veteran playthrough, and it was no big deal to knock down my normal playthrough to 4:40. Have not used the infinite rocket launcher, and I'm sure it's as useless and unfun as it was in RE4. |
