If the allure of MMA has always been having a fair fight with evenly matched competitors who have an interesting and technical fight then I don't think this qualifies. However, I'm pretty sure the allure is seeing a guy get the shit kicked out of him, so in that this succeeds. The victim was pretty unlikable since his hair was about a foot tall, but it does a pretty good job, and Ryan Mayhem Mullahey or whatever is a good host (but doesn't fight) and by good host I mean he's a irritating douche with awful dialog, so he fits perfectly in this show.

It takes a very odd structure which I didn't understand at first(maybe it's how MMA works?), the first round is grapples only (I don't know if the bully can grapple the other guy?) and the bully loses 1k for each time he has to tap out. This might sound gay, but when they get to the kick boxing section you realize why they do it, so the fight actually has some length. Since it just feels like borrowed time as some poor bastard tries to dodge a professional fighter for four minutes to keep the remaining 5k. The first episode has the bully walking away with 2k, so it feels more gameshow than reality TV.

It's pretty tame considering how self assure the bullies are, and I imagine they could get them to do a full length fight with no headgear, instead they do grapples, and then finish it off with kick boxing.
