Complaints
[quote name="Fussbett"]It's Quake 3, so no surprises there, love it or hate it (please enjoy the rest of this thread for that angle). My only complaint is that they didn't do enough with the 2009 addition: the social networking. You can friend up another player, but all that means is that you can use a "friends" server filter to see where they're playing. Big deal. I played with a friend last night and it was lots of fun, but I was sad to see that my specific effort to humiliate my pal by Gauntleting him 3 times results in no special award, no mention anywhere, not even stats on how many times we've killed each other. Burnout Paradise doesn't track friend stats in your profile, but does a nice thing before each race, where the camera moves through the starting grid and shows you one detail about each opponent. If it's their first time online, maybe how many races they've won, but a personal interaction will always trump that, like "has taken you down 3 times" or "watch out for this guy, he's always beats you" (paraphrased). So like an expanded version of the Rival system in TF2, but carrying over forever. My other complaint is that coming second in FFA shouldn't produce a "loss" in your overall stats, the same weight as a 20 minute Team DM or CTF match where you have a 50/50 chance of being on the winning team.
