Western characters

I read an interview where Ono mentions creating the new characters specifically with westerners in mind. For revenge i guess :(
This is the worst thing anyone has ever said about westerners. El Fresco looked terrible on the surface, being a luchador and doing his wacky "extreme cooking tiiiiiime!" frying pan bit, but then it turns out he's also dumb to fight, running around at triple speed, making a mockery of the whole thing. Fortunately everyone online agrees with me, and no one uses him. Same goes for the uninspiring Rufus, every part of his character designed uglier than the next. What players wanted a giant fatso with a shaved head AND braided ponytail who flops around doing bizarre moves at silly speeds? These people should be banned from Street Fighter! And I can excuse the Mexican luchador as fitting in with the SF universe of national stereotypes, but making the new American player fat is a low blow. (low FP) It's especially disappointing when Ono would talk about how Ken and Ryu are such great character designs, and not too simple at all. That made me think any new characters he had a hand in would be on the iconic, conservative side. More like Abel! I guess I should just thank him for Chun-Li's thighs and including Gen if I ever meet him, though. Let the missteps slide.
