Re: You'd think objectivists would make the best game list makers

It's a great puzzle game like you said. It's just not better than Tetris, and nothing like Tetris, sheesh!
Just how many different genre awards are we going to have to hand out to the "blocks keep falling" group? This is getting worse than the Oscars.
Even the Cable Brothers agree it's nothing like Tetris and they don't agree with anything unstaunch!
The Cables haven't actually played a game since sometime around the late 90s when their SNES cartridge batteries died and Married with Children reruns stopped airing. Everything since has been a CO induced fever. This is what list threads do! Look at this, derailed into nitpicking how two games about lining up pieces to make blocks disappear before they pile up at the top of the screen are separate genres. The only reason no one has outdone pure cloned Tetris is because pure cloned Tetris is boring and boils down to fitting the 'L', 'S', and 'T' blocks into a rectangle, which exhausts creative possibilities pretty quick. Meanwhile Tetris Attack has you juggling Reub Goldberg contraptions on the fly. Saying pure Tetris remains the best...Tetris game is like saying Kings Quest 6 remains the best pure adventure game of all time. It's only true because people got sick of the whole thing and game makers assimilated certain aspects of it into more fun mechanics. Out of This World is more an adventure game than a platformer, but is still further from Kings Quest than Dr. Mario and TA are from vanilla Tetris.
