Re: Posting my top ten to get Fussbett's top five
In order of hours spent. Where I only mention one of a series it means I love the entire series but want to give special credit to the most outstanding. Street Fighter Alpha 2 - This was the first SF I owned on a console, and in my opinion had the best graphics and characters. Sid Meier's Simgolf - I could play this one month a year for the rest of my life. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - A huge improvement on TH1, not even counting the addition of Spider-Man (!) in his black costume (!!). Baldurs Gate 2 - I sunk 100 hours at minimum into this game and then wasn't even done with it before I accidentally formatted the drive trying to install Linux. I flipped the fuck OUT and ragespammed every Linux forum I knew of. That keyboard is still rotating somewhere in my parents basement. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - A massive improvement on GTA3, with the best story arc and music of the series. Also, motorcycles! GTA4 has the best world and protagonist, but Vice City was more impressive at the time. Puzzle Pirates - Really only the swordfighting portion is remarkable, and only because it is a free online multiplayer version of Super Puzzle Fighter. Still a good enough qualification for the top ten! Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - This is the game that convinced me to buy a Playstation, and still holds up today. Fallout 3 - all the Fallouts were great but this one is the best all around package. Monkey Island 2 - These are the only games were actually consistently funny.
