Maybe Alex Jones is a big SMT guy?
I don't know why it's so hard to explain exactly why Persona 4 is perfect. I think from being a kid with nothing to do there arose this utilitarian purchasing strategy that got us all hooked on JRPGs. Even long after, sure the dialog/story/etc is retarded, but it will chew up the most time of my(your, I mean your) miserable life, so lets give FF9 a go. Text speed, skipping cinematics, FAQs are all coping strategies designed to rationalize a genre we fucking hate. What's important is that they occupied time like nothing else. I don't even know what represents JRPGs anymore, I have the latest Final Fantasy on my PS2's hard drive, and Crisis Core on my PSP's memory stick. I just can't keep interested in them, why would I keep interested in them? It's just the scab picking of video games. The reason I like Persona 3 and 4 is even if you want to stomp your feet, grit your teeth and try to speed through everything at a blistering pace and quickly get yourself to new and exciting numbers, it's going to take you the same amount of time, because there really isn't much slow about the dialog. It's spoken, it's spoken quickly, and you're not dismissing a million "..." prompts. The game is designed with being fun and engaging in the forefront. There are only two possible reasons to dislike Persona 3 and 4, one is if you're hardcore just not into JRPGs at all. This is perfectly fine, I don't think I've finished a JRPG since Final Fantasy 7 (besides Persona 3), some people just don't like Japanese shit. The other is that first guy, except he still plays the things, he's just such a joyless dour faggot who has been playing and finishing games he hates in a genre he hates methodically for years or even decades of his life, just to give himself some respite from watching the paint crack and flake or thinking about the furnace. Persona just takes the best elements ever to be tested in JRPGs, combines them all together, and makes a game that's pretty easy to pick up, put down, and calmly enjoy.
