Well, your made up counter-counter that gives an auto kill, that's a secret.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of stupid auto kill hidden deep in the annals of the game, since the game's wiki basically admits that the sword is useless unless you use it in an exploitative manner.
Killing enemies is not as simple as it might seem. After a few attacks you will find that your slashes will constantly get reversed. To avoid this, make sure you attack your opponents before they are in reversal range. An easy way to achieve this is to simply hold down the attack button - you will automatically attack the instant an enemy gets in range. This in turns pushes them back out of range and you can repeat this until the enemy is dead.
Wish they just put that in the game rather than the wiki, also you can apparently crouch and attack with a weapon for an auto-kill, another thing that might have been good in the tutorial since it's effectively required to kill wolves with any sort of speed. The game really doesn't have much meaningful gameplay to it, I can only imagine that your admittance of restarting several times means you restarted millions of times, and well that's a problem with the game and it makes it fucking shitty. I uninstalled this piece of shit just after the six wolf level, because I had no assurance that it wouldn't 12 wolves next or 24 after that. Fighting wolves isn't just a massive waste of time, but you need to perfectly kill each time consuming enemy so your character's invisible health bar doesn't get too low. The combat is cool, the idea is cool, but the game itself is just really poorly made. It'd be almost excusable if they stood up for those choices, but instead they just have a wiki littered with stupid ways to get around the shittier choices.
