Here is a mac anecdote from yesterday.
Yesterday I was testing a feature for a doodad, and I had to mock up a webpage on a Mac. So I open up the Mac Notepad equivalent (TextEdit) and wrote up the simplest webpage possible. It included the opening html tag, the body tag, the code I had to test, and then the closing tags for the body and the html. I save the thing to my desktop and I have an option for save as Rich Text, or as HTML. ??? HTML, I guess. I open the resultant file on my desktop through Safari and there's the code. Not what the code does, but the code itself. It turns out that TextEdit doesn't believe I would actually want to make a webpage with my own tags, it encoded them all and made its own webpage around my code. I call a mac person over and demand an explanation. "Oh, you have to download a text editor to be able to do that, the OS doesn't come with anything that lets you do that." Me (involuntary): "Goddamn it Macs are gay."
