I can't actively think about American/English pop music between 1970 and 2000.
Well, you'd better. Have you even seen a Karaoke book? I don't know what the hell you can sing, because not only are your listed preferences bizarre and unlikely to be even in the book, Karaoke novices are almost always wrong about what they can sing. Followers of my sad, sordid past may recall the girl from "Thursday." She was a choir singer, and carried her penchant into her latter years, and so we Karaoke'd plenty in our time together (and before). If you want to get off easy, you can always go with the go-to chickie standard, Joan Jett's "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." It's abysmal, but error-proof. Picturing you singing it is impossible, though. I have sung and done well in my time, but I am no singer. I do know my strengths and limitations, however. You really want to Wow 'em? When I want to wow 'em, I waltz right up there and do R.E.M.'s "It's the End of the World." Without looking at the prompter. However, you will still wow 'em if you nail it even with the prompter. Get the lyrics, practice in your car or at home (without anyone knowing, of course), that one song. It's fucking hard, nobody ever does it, everybody applauds, etc.
