Another biking thread. (cycling)
So I have been doing 5-12 miles most days, then 20-22 on Sundays, for a few weeks now and I feel like I have hit a wall. I always think "hey this is a nice ride now how's about I tack on another 3 mile loop" and then pussying out and maybe adding an extra mile but then that's it. I still hate hills. There is nowhere to go in this fucking town that doesn't involve hills, huge ones, everywhere. It is like driving over a porn movie. A week ago I was biking up Bluh Bloo Bloo Mountain, and I was panting and aching and sweating and aching and sweating and even (!!!!) pulling over to the side (!!!!!!!) every now and then to get some fucking lactate out of my fucking thighs before proceeding, and a couple of fucking Mormons breeze by me in white dress shirts and nice slacks and ties. Demoralizing. Pompous old guys with executive touring cycles and bags over the rear tires and stuff are always ostentatiously passing me on the street, too, like "fuck you rookie fatass", but then we get to a red light and now that they are in front they are no longer in any hurry and they take forever to launch and just get moving. I don't bother ostentatiously passing them. I just passive-aggressively pray that they turn soon. If they want to jerk off in public that's fine but I'm not putting in an assist. I have a goal now: I would like to be able to bike out to the coast. It's about 90 miles (all hills and mountains the whole way.) I figure it will take a long time to get there so I haven't set a deadline, but that's my goal.
