Stating outright that some artificial sense of camarederie should prevent me from calling a spade a spade. I'm not even all that fond of Rumsfeld, or of his approach to command. However, his answer was not inappropriate, and the issue raised by Spc Wilson is not that big a deal from a strategic perspective. From a tactical perspective, sure, which is why you have a chain of command to raise things with, so that the hard luck answers that must be given from on high are ameliorated by whatever those below can do to compensate.
