Dream Napkin
First I want to apologize to Jerry Whorebach for flaunting the ease with which I not only visit coffee shops, but then keep the napkins like so much spoils of victory. I often wake up from dreams and think I don't need to document anything because it's so vivid. I'll never forget it. Thirty minutes of sleep later, it's gone forever of course. This time, despite the incredible life-changing vividness of this wild dream and that I remember thinking was "like a movie" I pushed myself to turn over to the night stand and write it down. I'd only need jot notes to jog my memory come morning... Come morning I can't remember a thing about this fucking dream even with the notes. The notes help me remember a 2 second snippet and that's it. - "zombies" There were zombies and I was stabbing them. - "movies" Characters from movies were coming to life. Captain Jack Sparrow was the only one I remember, and I haven't seen any of those Pirates movies. - "cutlass stall" I was driving my family's old Cutlass until it stalled. - "hit ceiling / dive into water" At one point I jumped (or hit a ramp?) while running (away?) and as is common for my dreams I went up into the atmosphere, but a new twist was that I hit the "ceiling" of the sky, like the end of The Truman Show. That began my descent where I finally splashed down into the ocean. I was OK. Useless!
