Re: Method?

By saying that Boards of Canada and M83 differ vastly in method and this is one of the three reasons why the two acts cannot be compared implies that if two electronic artists who make electronic music using electronics arrive at the same sound, they still cannot be compared. I think this is not true, if you're wondering. I would readily compare two artists who use vastly different methods, because I don't read Pitchfork enough to know that Band A plays with their feet while Band B does all their recording underwater. All that matters is the final MP3. Also: Nicolas Fromageau is a good name. Cheese Water!
For the record, I get my instrument information from amg and articles I find, not pitchfork. "Electronics" is no longer a "similiar method" because it has gained so much breadth. Now there are drum machines, hardware synths, software synths, samplers, software arrangement programs, things like fruity loops, etc. A certain combination of these versus another I would consider a different method. What, for example, Prefuse 73 does and Boards of Canada do are totally different even if both use electronic instruments and I wouldn't even attempt to compare them.
