Re: You fucking bitch!

I could pick any number of songs to listen to on dunes at sunrise that would shock and awe any number of Americans in cotton pajamas.
It doesn't matter what you'd choose to listen to, because unless you were a complete asshole, you'd be wearing headphones. They'd think you were a fucking sheep consumer who couldn't properly convert nature's beauty into deep feelings and had to turn to your plastic electromechanmicalglobalimizatation brainwash device. You'd be running after them yelling, "But guys, wait! I'm listening to the Alan Parson's project!" Fuck the lot of you! You underestimate the level of hippiness over there. They're not the sexy San Fran kind of hippy who'll be impressed you know the colour of the 5th chakra. They're fierce, broken hippies who'll talk such ridiculous shit and then confess they tried to kill themselves on Valantines day. They're fucked people! Here is a photo of part of the crew I went to the dunes with. See if you can pick the Europeans who are just having fun with it from the American who believes... You want to be hated by people like that.
You should start talking about that 90% posthaste, because Coldplay - even more than Crash Test Dummies, which I would consider the artless fumbling of someone who didn't really care about music and just stuck with whatever he was listening to in college - marks a man who intellectually incompatible with me. You've just doomed our marriage.
What an asshole. For a start, I take 'intellectually incompatible' to mean stupid, and if we got married, you'd better be the smart one because what the fuck else do you have to offer? Secondly, I'm trying really hard to stop my American-hating here, but I fucking hate how Americans write a person off because he rides a scooter instead of a motorbike, or bodyboards instead of surfs, or snorkels instead of scubadives, or listens to REM instead of Alan Parsons. I think that's why you're all such a bunch of uptight, squeamish, dishonest motherfuckers, because you're (quite rightly) scared revealing some insignificant leisure preference is going to wipe out half your friendship prospects. As for CTD, I was 10 or 11 when they released God Shuffled His Feet. They sung pop songs about growing old and God and being different and I thought they were weird. They don't mind being very, very normal, and even if they haven't held up so well, I'm a pretty loyal guy with a good imagination and I don't give up on things I used to love just because they're a bit shitty in retrospect. Whereas you'll ditch U2, your childhood love, the moment you find out someone's Mum likes them. As for Coldplay, even if I didn't have important memories attached, I can't imagine hating 'Clocks' or 'Don't Panic' under any circumstances. The Coldplay video for 'God put a smile on my face' totally nailed how I felt in my recent brush with professionlism. I told my girlfriend this and Youtubed the video for her and about halfway through she said, "Oh my God, you fucking loser! You're a fucking loser! Are you a loser? *seriously concerned face*". IT WAS FUNNY.
I despise REM but Michael Stipe did a great interview with one of my favorite gay mags, and they shot a bunch of videos in the styles of prominent faggot photographers. I am willing to credit them with better taste in their personal than professional lives.
I'm pissed off Michael Stipe is gay. I think it's because he became some kind of uncle character to me after hearing him so much when I was young and I kind of feel a bit molested now for some reason! Hahahah! I don't think that describes it but I don't like it. Maybe it's because I think he's a pussy for hiding it so long. I don't know.
When I was barely able to walk I wanted Dad to put his Eagles LP on all the time, then I would dance like a maniac to Witchy Woman.
I fucking hate the Eagles. I've slowly come around on all my Father's bands, but I'm holding out on the Eagles and I hope to never like them. It's become quite a personal thing for me. I don't like to think a person can become conditioned to like every kind of music so long as he grew up with it, although it's turning out that way. I listen to Fleetwood Mac whenever I'm overseas at Christmas because my Dad thrashed it so hard, and I used to hate it, but now I love it seemingly against my will. It's like I have no control over what I like. Hating the Eagles, though, keeps me in the drivers seat.
