Does a bathroom count as a second room? It should!

That's my monitor! It's great! My only fault with it is the status light. It's one of those ultra bright blue LEDs and it blinks to tell you the computer is off. It's powerful enough that I can navigate a fair stretch of my house in the dark without having to turn a light on if I time my movements with the blink, which I don't - I just go hell for leather and tables be damned because that's how I roll. It's become a kind of lighthouse to me on nights I wake up to piss, so I shouldn't be too hard on it, but I don't think it's necessary for an appliance to tell you when it's off. Even a beautiful appliance. I live with it and I think you can too so long as it's not in your bedroom.
The blinking means your monitor isn't really off, it's just in standby mode awaiting a signal. To save energy (and the environment), you should always manually switch off your monitor after powering down your computer. Another good idea is to unplug your mobile phone charger from the outlet when you aren't using it. Also, showering with cold water is both efficient and stimulating. <img src="http://www.hardwarelogic.com/articles/blogs/Website_Reviews_and_You/MoreYouKnow.jpg">
