Unlike all the past or present qt3 members in this thread, I've done what you want to do, and more than once. Post-high-school, I had knowledge of nothing but my resume listed the kitchen sink. (if it counts for anything -- and according to Zseni it does -- I was earnest in my claims: back then I felt that anything you get at with a keyboard and screen could be instantly mastered (by me)). In ten or so interviews I got three offers and was only challenged once, it was an IT prick/HR gal team and I'm sure the guy was just trying to impress her. He picks one of the more obscure items on my sheet and starts asking if I know anything about [mumble]. I start to answer, and he interrupts, "well how about [burble]". I say no, and he then barfs out all the item-relevant jargon he knows while I grin lamely and shrug and mumble "that's just... stuff, man." I was sure I could do the job. Point is, an interview is a sales call and people sell shitty products all the time. You can too! For your particular purpose I recommend the works of Phillip Greenspun. If you can talk like him for 20 minutes, someone will hire you.
