CoH is my second favorite

So were any of you the same people hard-selling City of Heroes? Because I heard a lot of the same things about CoH being just intangibly better than its peers, and I turned out being wholly uninterested in that after about a week. Is this somehow magically better than that even (i.e., any good at all)? Or do you really have to be the type of person who kind of actually likes this MM bullshit to appreciate it?
CoH has the best character creation system I've seen and an arcadish feel to the combat which I love. Not much depth outside of that. You level grind a LOT in there. WoW, on the other hand, is just your run of the mill fantasy MMO with 95% of the shit I hate taken out and about 300% more polish, style, and fun put in. Of course, if you don't like anything about the genre, WoW probably won't change your perceptions. The basic concepts and gameplay are the same, they just seem to have struck a magical ratio between elements with this one. I might be singing a different tune 20 levels from now, but I don't think so. Polish example: I was fishing and caught a wierd bloated fish. I gutted the thing and found that it had a gem inside. Just little shit like that everywhere. And all the architecture is beyond superb. First time I went to Ironforge, the Moria-like dwarf capital, and looked up at the 100ft high ceiling I was dizzied. I don't recall that happening to me in a game before. -/ES/- I have not finished HL2 yet if that's any indication of how much I like WoW
