Their emotions become less 'sharp' or more 'mellow'. Because this is less obvious than their physical degeneration, they can lie to themselves and us about it. When modern music doesn't arouse them the way it use to, old people blame it on our boogie and no one can really speak against that because music is just a bunch of sounds. But, games have guys like Fussbett and INC fucked because unlike music, no one can claim that games are getting worse. You can hold gameplay constant and measure how much better games are getting technically year on year, or you can accept that gameplay improves along with everything else. Either way, you'll be blown away. So how does an old cunt rationalize when he can't get it up for Bioshock? He blames it on time constraints, or executive stress, or family obligations, or some other ridiculous shit. It's time for that guy and his fucked moods to <i>indulge</i> in shit like yachting and acoustic guitar. So it's a shame you're done with games, Fussbett, but just out of interest: what do you make of the the new Digitalism and Justice albums, because to me they sound like how it feels to be a happy young man.
