I got the bit about it authenticating my Steam account as well -- now it's "Validating Steam Files." Motherfucker, I don't give a shit, let me <i>fucking play. </i> I will never buy another game using this distribution model again. The people that said "HL2 needs to access Steam once!!!" are fucking liars and that's a fucking lie. My computer's done nothing but fuck around with Steam and the installer for six and a half fucking hours tonight. I'm not going to post any more on the subject because it's boring to everyone who's able to play the game, but I won't bother with any game trying this shit in the future and if they're all like that it's time for a new habit.
