Car commercials!

You should have consulted me on Sun Phase Music. I would have pointed you towards Tolgu Candar's 2006 album, Dogu, and particularly the first and third tracks. Maybe it wasn't out yet when you were in that desert, but you should find it, listen to it, and retroactively apply it to your memory. In your mind, glare back at the Americans; their experience was incomplete. Royksopp is a band that makes car commercial soundtracks. Just think of every Royksopp album as having titles like Volkswagen GTI or Kia Rio.
Fuck you for saying that. If I try my hardest, I can cry over Melody A.M. BUT, why do car commercials fuck up songs worse than any other kind of commercial? It's absolutely a phenomenon. It's not because they're the only ones using good music. We had bank ads featuring DJ Shadow back when he meant something. I can't think of a single song a sport shoe company has ruined for me and they're pretty onto it. In fact, they tend to improve the standing of their music. Cellphone companies have turned me onto a bunch of cool shit. Your Antonio Carlos Jobim featured in a budget chip commercial here and I didn't think any less of him for it. But the second a Goldfrapp remix plays in a Toyota ad, she's dead to the world. It's bullshit. Do cars ad's run for longer, or does the music stick better to their less abstract visuals, or are car ads dumber?
