It's the fault of FEMINISTS.

Just before 5am on Monday, April 16, Cho Seung-hui got out of bed and walked to his computer. Perhaps he fiddled with his rambling 1,800-word self-portrait of a killer as the insults and grievances that he had been nursing for years coursed through his head. ... “Young women now seem to want to behave like men and have sex without commitment. The signals they are giving are very confusing, and rage and humiliation build up in boys who are spurned again and again.” The sex, Paglia argues, “is everywhere but it is not erotic”, as can be seen by the sad spectacle of Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears flashing their lack of underwear during a night on the town. “It’s not even titillating. It’s banal and debasing.” ... “This is part of the plague that has come with the drug culture in the inner cities,” she says. “Cho’s use of semi-automatic weapons can ultimately be traced back to gangsta rap. It is a fabrication of urban life which is sold to teenagers trapped in the utterly sterile shopping-mall culture of the American suburbs.” ....
It's popular and wildly incorrect to assume American suburbs and campuses are sterile and boring. Please see: David Lynch, Youtube, Kent State, and furries. People are so violently uncomfortable with the completely precedented culture emerging from these places that they assume there is no culture at all - like how Europeans didn't think Native Americans didn't have an economy because they had no currency. The lees from a press of dreams, suburban America gives luxury and liberty to a million impulses which have been for centuries shuttered, bound, gagged, and ignored. There is TOO MUCH culture to indicate all of it with one term: suburbia. But of course this culture is not a culture with visible determinants; no Queen Elizabeth patronizes the artists of MySpace, no Ferdinand funds the journey of the subdivision ricer king, no Chanel is the exlusive clothier of the camwhore. It is equally popular to assume that there is something magically "feminized" about a culture which lionizes the white-collar worker and with it, the abilities to sit still and not kill people all the time. NEVER MIND THE FACT THAT EVERY GOVERNMENT SINCE SUMER WORKS BY EXACTLY THIS METHOD, USING EXACTLY THESE PEOPLE IN EXACTLY THIS MANNER. Never mind that Westerns and Samurai movies and John Wayne are all contraptions, puppet-shows, and cartoons, and that in reality 90% of the human race has done nothing more important than farm and breed. For some reason, it's the fucking FEMINISTS who have despoiled our precious young men - poor lost souls, they can no longer run around beating the shit out of stuff as is their natural wont and divine right. Nobody ever blames errant masculinists who have stupidly defined maleness as being whatever Mommy told you not to do (besides fucking asses.) For untold centuries and in nations across the globe, the primary occupation of men was FARMING, and quite a lot of them went into the highly sedentary industries of religious practice and royal asskissing. "Clerk" was a highly desireable position for hundreds of years, and, moreso than that, "lawyer" and "doctor." "Cowboy", "cop", and "Mongol raider" were occupations with long waiting lists and family preferments, much like getting into Harvard. In China, for over a thousand years, your ass was working like crazy in hopes of passing the civil service tests and becoming a BUREAUCRAT. In Japan, if you were lucky enough to be born into a samurai family, you didn't have any more shot at the head-chopping big time than a dumb kid from the sticks... unless your family was already rich. And even then, most of the Bushido wank was just that: wank, as the merchants (second rung from the bottom on the social ladder) got richer and more powerful every year, and actors (bottom rung) got more popular, until almost nobody liked or wanted you at all. In Europe, the knights in their shining armor got riddled with holes by peasant bowmen, and then they got done out of their inheritances and ancient rights by (again) more merchants and bureaucrats. Merchants and bureaucrats brought us the Magna Carta and the American Revolution, the Internet, the polio vaccine, and the nuclear bomb. It is the men who sit on their asses that rule the world and everything in it, and every hidebound and dreadful attempt to remarry masculinity to sport, action, and manual labor is absolute foolishness. The sedentary world IS the very same world that men have dominated for centuries, and this same manly world has been quietly killing lone gunmen for untold hundreds of years from its comfortable executive chairs. A WINGNUT IS A WINGNUT, people, and a billion pages of press on who is to blame for wingnuttiness merely obscures the real problem: that human beings are fundamentally fucked up and flawed. THAT IS ALL.
