Yes, hunters are the cheapiest class forever.
It's RIDICULOUS how cheap hunters are now. Blizz has been nerfing every single class except hunters forever. SHORT LIST OF HIGH HUNTER CHEAPNESS: 1. Humanoid Tracking - the gold standard of unfair advantages. Hunters never get surprised by a rush and they always know right where to find you when they want you. You would expect a perk like this to cost plenny money but it doesn't: tracking costs 50 mana and it lasts until you turn it off. There are no drawbacks to it. 2. Longest attack range in the game: never mind the range on shots, what really matters is that traps and pets, unlike totems or, really, everything else in the game, work at fantastic ranges. You can sit your pet on the flag room ground in WSG and run up to the roof to snipe. Nobody on the flag room ground can hit you; you can just sit around winging shots into them while your pet eats them alive. BUT PIGGY MIGHT GET HURTS?!! No he won't. He has more HP and more armor than all but the most fanatical defensive warriors. If you wanted to gear up with Piggy's levels of resistance, you will be spending all your money, son. But Piggy gets it all for free. :) Piggy can tank anything. 3. Mana drain shot: this drains a LOT of mana for not a lot of expense, plus it's instant cast - you can shoot it on the run. 2 or 3 of these will wipe out every advantage a paladin has except armor. Clothies who have recklessly spent their mana getting across the BG in the first place are made into delightful EZ Mode snacks. It is the bane of healers and the only way to crack a turtling crowd of pallys and priests. Really only warlocks get a free pass on that one. 4. Second target: believe it or not, a lot of players will attack the pet instead of the hunter. Hahaha! Even though the pet has 50% more HP, 100% more armor, and only does 60% as much damage. Hahaha! 5. Mail armor, even though hunts are supposed to keep the melee to a minimum. I consider this super uber cheap since it's a buff with almost no class-related purpose. I mean - it would make kinda partial sense if mail-wearing were a perk on the Survival tree, but how on earth can Bliz look at hunters, who enjoy hands down the most stress-free PvE experience in the game, and say "THOSE GUYS ARE IN DANGER! THEY NEED MORE ARMOR!" is beyond me. 6. The whole BM tree is full of unvarnished cheapness: you get the ability that gives your pet a 100% chance to get a 30% attack speed increase for 10 seconds after a crit, then the ability that makes your pet attack 20% faster just generally (oh yeah, it also makes YOU attack 20% faster generally), then the ability that gives everybody in your party a 3% increase to all types of damage after your pet crits. DYK? If you have Ferocious Inspiration and maxed Frezy + Serpent's Swiftness, FI procs constantly. And everything just mentioned is completely free. No mana cost, no casting time, no need to hit a single button. It just happens. Being a hunter is very economical. And easy.
