Give the cash to the beggars? How much goes to fund a drug habit? To Africa? How effective at getting the money to the population is your organization of choice compared to the rest? How about more complex problems, like Chechnya? Or let's say a christian missionary organization is more effective at providing aid than one with no religious ties, and you're worried about just how big the religious conflict might become supposing that the missionaries do their job? It's good that people think about these things! Being paralyzed by choice is, to me, a somewhat understandable reason to be confused about where to put your money. In fact, I'd rather have a million people obsessing about (and writing stories about) just how complex the issue of being intellectually honest as you're donating to charity is than having them randomly giving out money to whoever asks first. I never give away free money to anyone but bartenders, mostly because I don't feel like I'm rich enough to do so yet. BLAM[/quote]
