Crazy Boss Story 3
About a month before the, uh, separation, I took a sick day. When I came back, CVB dragged me into the conference room for a meeting. "Fucking Towelhead Indian Prince complained about you yesterday." Fucking Towelhead Indian Prince, son of the president of Fucking Towelhead Indian Trucking Lines, and I were pretty good friends. So I was surprised. I told CVB as much. "I asked Mr. Wonderful about this complaint," she continued. Mr. Wonderful is head dispatcher for FTI Trucking, and totally my best Canadian friend ever. We're tight like a prom date. "And he said it was true." All complaints were always presented to me in this identical ominous style. The main difference this time was that she was naming names. Usually it was "several people have complained to me..." followed by a complaint with positively no basis in reality. So the beginning was different but the end was the same. "What was the complaint, CVB?" I prompted, knowing that she would wait me out, glaring, like a cobra eying up a mongoose, until I asked for my beating like a good girl. "They said you were sending the dispatches late in the day. It is a really problem for them." Her grasp of English was also suspect. This had the spectacular side effect of leaving me in doubt over whether, on any given occasion, she actually meant to insult me or she was just stupid. "Well that's really weird, CVB, since you know I always send them out as soon as I get them. Remember how you had me send them for everyone in the department? Because I was so fast?" "I am just telling you what they told me, Miss Zseni. Now how will you fix this problem?" "I'm telling you, CVB, I don't send anything late. I mean," I pursued a line of reasoning which in any other situation would have been inarguable. "You can check the WinFax logs. You can always see when I have sent any faxes." Remember, the following is a direct quote. "<b>It doesn't matter what the truth is.</b>" Direct quote. CVB. I sat in shocked silence. "Now how will you fix this problem?" ...Later, I asked Indian Prince and Mr. Wonderful about the complaint. "What the hell are you talking about? Nothing like that came from either of us." Volleyball Mormon Fag filled in the missing pieces for me later. "Oh that complaint thing? About the dispatches? Ha ha, that wasn't Indian Prince OR Mr. Wonderful. It was an account manager. And the account manager said it about the guy who was filling in for you on your sick day." The guy filling in for me on my sick day was the company controller's son in law. Later, CVB found out that I had asked Indian Prince and Mr. Wonderful about the complaint, and she was ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS that I was "discussing private company business" with "uninvolved people."
