Congratulations on finally mimicking her writing style then

The problems with MGS's controls are that they actively game the AI and cause awkward exploiting to occur when in fact, the game is much better 90% of the time if you just blaze through creating chaos and barely surviving each section. Most people don't even realize that MGS2 has a pretty sweet system for running and gunning with the AK74 and its ilk with a minimum of fuss, akin to its highly successful katana mechanic. Once again, you mistake your lack of skill in a game for a defect in the game.
"Metal Gear Solid: not meant to be a stealth game" - Lizard King, game expert (moreso than "most people")
So, really, you view Silent Hill as a successful interactive novel, sort of a choose your own adventure thing. I think I've learned a lot about SH and why I don't like it that much, and even more about you today. I don't even want "monster blasting" I just find most survival horror to be extremely broken, and RE4 to be good largely because of its successful concessions to action gamers.
Resident Evil never had a compelling enough atmosphere going for it to justify the spartan survival horror gameplay - aside from the "fresh for 1996" original - so they had to change something. The atmosphere? Fussbett's link to the early poor man's Silent Hill build told us that wouldn't have worked, so instead they ramped up the gameplay to "action". Resident Evil was more about zombie blasting than nuanced horror so it worked. If you can think of a way Silent Hill would be improved by turning it into an action game please do share. Personally I think the series is stagnating because they've been slacking on story and scares, not because there's no time attack mode.
It makes me think there's a future out there, one where a little Fahbsy can be hunted by the J Horror of his choice without being hamstrung by mongoloid controls and shit camera angles.
A brighter future than enjoying JRPGs that play the game for you?
