Welllllll leechers aren't always great.
Let's say someone on a dial-up connection, or someone who pays by the MB for bandwidth, etc. uploads his favorite album, and let's say for the sake of argument that it's A Very Jedi Christmas. WOW says the P2P world. I had that as a kid! Good times! But only three people actually jump on the torrent. The uploader uploads....the first guy to get a full copy bolts. There are now .7 copies shared between the two dudes left. The uploader uploads. The next guy to get a full copy bolts. Etc. This is a nasty problem at ThePPN and it does frustrate some uploaders. Leechers can make problems for uploaders and seeders. And, of course, ratio requirements do nothing about it, since that first bolter might have had a ratio of 1.5 on that torrent from uploading to the other guys. My take on it is: uploaders should be giving and generous like Mother Nature. But I can understand how a guy on a modem would appreciate a little help. I think it should be a matter of good manners to not bail on a lone uploader and what have you, but good luck trying to get people to adopt an etiquette online. I really don't know how to resolve the quandry between free files freely given and people making rude use of that freedom in a just way that actually works.
