UPDATE: infested with fags
The World Series' Main Event just wrapped up, so I went to download some content from that. The torrents opened OK but in the status field it said "BANNED; UPGRADE TO LATEST VERSION". They banned Azureus! Confident that this was all a misunderstanding, I went to post in their forums:
Az2.3.0.4 ban: what is this retardation? Seriously, even the most anal trackers, like oink.me.uk, still allow this version. It works perfectly and is secure and doesn't leak your info into DHT. There is NO good reason to ban it. 2.4.x clients have never worked for me, my network stuff freezes up after a few minutes of torrenting. A few others on oink had the same problem, we never found a solution, and we still use what works. This policy change is -EV. Please reconsider.
Some admin asks if I have the latest Java, and we go back and forth for a few messages with his incompetent technical troubleshooting, covering ground that I went over months ago. I attempt to steer things back to the topic at hand, but one of their cutouts comes along (IN MY THREAD!!) and starts asking about port forwarding. He and the admin have a fruitful discussion about that. If any single reply was germane to the substance of my post, I'd paste it here. The final solution to their policy being retarded was to edit my post so that "what is this retardation?" no longer appeared in its title.

In parallel to this, I posted in the "General Chat" forum asking for a copy of the Sirius play-by-play audio from the ME. A different admin tells me that this isn't the request forum. I can't SEE the request forum, see, because I'm not a "power user," despite my 3.5 ratio /10GB uploaded, because you need 25GB uploaded, which is unlikely to ever happen for most people, since there is only about 15GB of worthwhile poker content in the entire universe. I point out that it's kind of dumb to have a request forum where most of the users can't even SEE the request. But it's OK, because it's to prevent people abusing the tracker! Some people with 0.3 ratios spammed requests before. Do I love people with 0.3 ratios? I must, if I'm in favor of just anyone being able to ask for things. I would paste this second thread but it was deleted.
