Re: Finally some abortion debate at Caltrops

Abortion is another in a long series of issues beloved of conservatives, who, strong believers in the importance of private ownership in every other arena, consider women to be public property and subject to fair use laws.
That's good spin for a world where we can all grow a baby in our abdomens.
You would be surprised at how little baby-growing buys you in terms of bargaining power. Problem number one of course is that all women everywhere are constantly engaged in the Prisoner's Dilemma vis a vis each other: if I don't have babies, she will. Even assuming all women refuse to have babies together - in an exemplary moment of collective bargaining - do you think it's more likely that they'll get whatever they're bargaining for, or that they will be forced to have babies? In this man-centric world, babies are so important that next to them, women are completely irrelevant, or rather women are only relevant insofar as they can produce babies. Ironically, a little over half of the babies are women. I favor a woman-centric structure in which women make all the relevant baby decisions, and men are only relevant insofar as they produce baby batter. But this is CRAZY, because women should WANT the NATURAL STATE of being subserviant mobile wombs controlled by violence and coercion.
