Re: Review -Point by point for easy rebuttal-

DIFFICULTY: The basic enemies are harder and more varied than NG's, but this is mitigated by less frustrating bullshit from the camera. A good candidate for the hardest game on the PS2. Word of advice: once you hit level 3, make sure you always have at least 1 of these checkpoint yellow orbs on you. It is incredibly frustrating to fight your way through a long, puzzle-strewn level only to get killed by the boss at the end and have to fight through the whole thing AGAIN.
I thought GOW was much harder, and it was nowhere approaching NG. Perhaps because I did not play the frustrating original, or because the difficulties have been reshuffled?
You must be playing the rerelease, because the original DMC3 is waaaaaaaay harder than God Of War. GoW is a little tough in parts (until you max out your blades) but DMC3 is ballstompingly tough from the 2nd level onwards. I think the nicest compliment I can give the game is that the first 4 times I played the Hell Vanguard that's the 2nd boss, he whipped my ass, and by the end of the game I was regularly killing those guys as regular foot soldiers while using the same weapons. It's a nice feeling that you have to actually develop the skill in playing the game to survive the levels. You should play it on what was Normal for the first US release. Re: the style system, you want to string together more combos because you get more orbs for being more stylish. Also, because it's more fun to hike somebody up in the air, shoot them across the room with a sniper rifle, send his 4 friends flying with a wall of flame, and then jump over to where he landed so you can surf his prostrate body around the room while shooting everybody with guns akimbo. It's just fun.
