Some thanks and some followup
Thanks for the detailed response, especially since I came late to the party.
How about if I ask you to spend twice as much here. For a hundred bucks you get probably the best value case ever made and a 450 watt Antec PSU.
Hm, I've never seen a case where you have to tranversely mount the hard drives. Did you have any space problems working with this case? I read a story about someone having to remove the psu in order to install and hookup their MB. I'm also curious what that black, plastic baffle/covering over the main bay is for in the newegg picture.
I don't know shit about EPoX motherboards. Did you make that up? If they are some best kept Asian secret, please, let me know.
They exist. Honestly I think I bought it because it was in Computer Gaming World's 'lean machine' set up at the time. I've never had a problem with it. It has a nifty two character led display in the bottom left hand corner that displays any error codes you may inadvertently cause during installation which I'd never had on either of my previous Abit boards (an Abit BH6-which died, and the Abit BE6-II). I used it to diagnose a ram problem I had during my initial build. Better then trying to figure out an error based on beeps. I see that the Abit board you pointed out is doing that now. It also came in neat translucent box. Also, I'll keep in mind your thoughts on the graphics card and CPU. Another question, is the onboard audio something to use now? I'm still running a SB Live XGamer I bought back in 1999.
