Re: I'm 11 Colosi in and I've played it only about 6 hours.

Everything Mischief Maker says applies along with the sense of scale. It's expected of the colossus, but the environments echo this too. Everything facet of the background is filled to the brim with ancillary details of a compulsive nature from skittering lizard to pillars of light rising up from the resting places of dead colossi. Graphically it isn't as bright or as vibrant as MGS3, which squeezed the PS2 for all it's worth, because the contrasts in light saturates and diffuses everything else. This isn't a bad thing but warps and mutes the world being played in.
Yes, I love the detail! This game is just one "greatest moment of Half-Life" after another. Like when I was first watching the intro movie and thought, "eh pretty and all, but I've seen better," then I bumped the right analog stick, the camera angle moved, and I realized these rolling mountains and canyons were being rendered in engine. Or while I was fighting the poison-spitting lizard colossus in a multi-story colusseum trying to figure out its weakness so I climbed up several stories and looked through a barred window trying to find it so I could snipe it from a distance only for its huge head to pop up a few inches away staring straight at me. This is probably the only videogame I would enjoy just watching someone else play. PS. Did you know that if you kill the white-tailed skittering lizards and pick up their tails it increases your strength circle?
