Re: We <3 Katamari (and another expansion pack bonus review)
You want the original soundtrack in the sequel? I just want the original game first :( You also win by not playing Freedom Force and The Third Reich, it has the single most obnoxious menu screen of anything ever. Seriously. It's all the characters from the game in a panorama that spins around you forever with a horrible, faux-nazi marching theme going on. All the bright colours and lines succeed in doing is making sure you can't see where the mouse is (not just the pointer on screen, damn my synasthesia). The "heroes" of the era are ridiculously weak (in fact, they're normal people!), I suppose to tell everyone you don't need super powers to be a hero, but having a gun, a card dipped in acid, a sword and a jetpack sure to help. In contrast, the other heroes are so powerful compared to the main enemies that it breaks everything, I eventually found myself trying to *not* make the most powerful character I could, whilst being strong enough to actually defeat more than one enemy every 5 minutes. All of this changes for the final few levels, where you'll get spanked seven ways from Sunday by a few choice enemies, but without actually getting defeated (34 minutes to do the final mission, which is two enemies long). All of this and a general lack of support from the mod community so far just makes it feel not as cool as the original (which is too short, but The Strangers fan mod is pretty excellent) so don't bother, reinstall the original and find some of the better mods instead.
