Re: Next Tuesday, for one.

He had not been a fan of the fact that nothing of importance can be discussed on this website for quite some time.
It's true. None of us tried as hard as Bill to be important.
I wouldn't expect anything less than braying and cackling that another one bit the dust,
We owe him that much.
but this place is becoming very boring. Not that Zseni, for instance, leaving because one nobody wrote "LEAVE!!!! NT" over and over again wasn't stupid, but the collective loss of everyone adds up. I'm down KThor, Mao, Zseni, 95% of Fussbett, curst, cNo, ceep, Koba and now BDR.
I speak for 100% of the remaining losers when I say that we're going to try very hard to live up to your (high but fair) expectations. I can now promise you vast, swaying fields of quality, seeded by the fragments of BDR's exploded soul and fertilized by your own nutrient-rich tears. Look for this fresh new attitude in my forthcoming post, "Remember when we had an admin who provided nonstop entertainment?"
I was hoping that if someone who liked everyone's posts paid the bill and just shut up that nobody would be compelled to leave because, after all, it wasn't the "administrator" telling them to shut the fuck up.
I still remember when all of us hoped that. We shared a special dream, a dream of a community where no one is compelled to leave and the aggregate wonderfulness increases monotonically until we're all getting blown away by the interest alone. Like Zseni said, "we can work for quality forever, or we can have our quality work for us!" Of course, it was obvious that people could still choose to leave (during the early phases at least), but equally obvious that only a damn fool ever would. Things change, though, and I don't even remember why we started all the fussing and compelling and only that it seemed right at the time. That was the beginning of the end.
Yes, he was very polite and a pleasure to run a website with.
Then that's how we'll remember him.
