of Blackhawks and squad coordination
That blackhawk is fucking deadly on that Mushar(?) City map. Zero ground anti-air to defend against choppers full of repairing engineers. How many anti-tank missiles does it take to down a chopper? 2? 3?.....4?!?!! Add another one or two due to super fast passenger engineer repair. Manage to kill a gunner with an anti-tank missile Red Dawn style? Too bad the pilot is a squad leader and they just respawn right there. I'm all for teamwork and tactics but damn that map needs some sort of anti-air; the vehicle based machineguns and tank missiles just don't cut it. I'm having invincible Mi-8 flashbacks from BF: Nam. Speaking of which, whatever happened to warning your team when one of your flags was in the process of being captured? Going back to that feature would cut down on the ease of lone wolves suddenly neutralizing a flag and capturing it in 15 seconds. It would encourage people to take advantage of the squad system and try that behind the lines shit in teams. I rarely see an effective squad, and when it happens it's usually about 2-3 clanners that lock the squad out from strangers joining. Hey guys, I could spawn at your great behind the lines position and help exploit that shit, but I guess you need those 3 empty spots. Has anyone else been having mic chat problems? Mine worked fine for the first week, then just suddenly stopped. I could hear others, but no one could hear me. Tested it with two friends and still nothing. Microphone works fine out in desktop, works fine in BF2's built in mic test in the audio settings, yet no one in the game can hear me. No changes were made to my sound card, drivers, or settings. Currently for the past few days I haven't even heard anyone chatting on voice enabled servers. I don't know if it's just coincidence that no one's talking anymore or what. I can't even see the green speaker icon when I hold down the chat key anymore. Both patch versions are just as broken.
