Re: musings

I'm disappointed at the lack of specific tank battle maps. That was the most fun I had in 1942, I guess the mines, C4, and SRAWs would complicate that though.
I'm just disappointed by the number of boring maps with huge travel distances and tons of retarded, hard to navigate terrain and obstacles (okay there's a giant one square mile fence around this area, let me waste minutes of my life walking around trying to find the exit. Here's a bunch of cliffs I could climb if they were just more level by 3 degrees, guess I'll have to walk around the long way). On the Kubra Dam map the ratio of fighting to asking youself "how the hell do I get there from here?" is about 4:1. Are these to encourage front line respawning of a squad leader? That only works if you're team isn't retarded, which is rare. Your only other option is to hope there's a nearby buggy to hop in. Otherwise it's a 5 minute trek to the next flag. Sniping observation: In single player, headshots are always an instant kill, even with the starting rifle. Just place the crosshairs on the face and pull the trigger. Yet in multiplayer, even stationary targets shrug off 3 such hits.
